A man’s sexual health is indicative of his general physiological state. Frequent problems such as erectile dysfunction, for example, can be an early symptom of emerging – up to 2-3 years of age – vascular disease of the heart and brain after a certain age. The specialist in endocrinology and metabolic diseases Prof. Zdravko Kamenov announced this at a press conference. It presented data for a new clinical study according to the highest world standards of the Bulgarian flagship in the treatment of erectile dysfunction – Tribestan. The veteran preparation, developed in the 1960s and 1970s by Bulgarian scientists, is today one of the best-selling products worldwide.
Tribestan is an herbal product with extract of the herb Tribulus Terrestris and has proven to stand the test of time. It entered clinical practice in the 1980s, but its qualities are periodically tested, especially after the introduction of today’s rigorous standards of good manufacturing practice.
The most recent clinical study of the preparation categorically confirms that Tribestan is effective for the treatment of impotence. The study is the largest representative study in our country of a dietary supplement for erectile dysfunction without a doctor’s prescription. It was conducted in 10 leading endocrinology and urology clinics in Sofia, Pleven, Ruse, Varna and Lovech with a questionnaire that is considered the gold standard for the assessment of erectile dysfunction worldwide. The study included 180 men with established mild to moderate erectile dysfunction and/or decreased libido. They were divided into two groups, one of which was given the Tribestan for three months on the schedule needed for treatment, and the other a placebo. To ensure maximum objectivity of the results, the study was based on the “double-blind” and “randomized” criteria. This means that the participants were randomly assigned to the two groups, and neither they nor their doctors knew who was taking Tribestan and who was taking placebo.
The results show that already at the end of the first month there is a significant improvement in the patients treated with Tribestan. And by the end of the third month, the difference between the indicators of the participants on Tribestan and those on the placebo was significantly greater in favor of the first, said specialists from “Sopharma”, Tribestan‘s pharmaceutical manufacturer.
Besides the fact that Tribestan is safe, one of the additional advantages of Tribestan is that it has a beneficial effect on fat metabolism, i.e. it regulates the cholesterol level in the blood and strengthens the immune system. The product is mainly aimed at a specific male problem and also has a surprisingly useful expression area for women. It relieves climacteric symptoms because it is based on active herbal ingredients known as phytohormones – the safe alternative to classic hormone therapy.
