Troxerutin of the pharmaceutical company Sopharma is a drug that has capillarotonic, analgesic and anti-inflammatory action. Troxerutin reduces the increased permeability of capillaries. Antagonizes the venodilating effect of histamine, bradykinin and other mediators of inflammation. It has anti-inflammatory effect on peri-venous tissue. Reduces swelling, relieves pain, improves trophism and pathological changes associated with venous insufficiency.

Usage

Troxerutin gel is applied in the morning and evening, gently rubbed with light massage movements on the affected areas of the skin. If necessary, it can be applied under a bandage and a tight sock.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to troxerutin or any of the excipients of the product.

Precautions:

Do not apply on mucous membranes, open wounds and eczema.

No external administration of Troxerutin.

Pregnancy and lactation:

There are no data on adverse effects on the fetus and newborn. The drug can be used during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, as well as during breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines:

Use of the product does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.

Side effects

Troxerutin is generally well tolerated.

1. What Troxerutin Sopharma gel is and what it is used for

Troxerutin Sopharma gel contains the active substance troxerutin, which belongs to a group of medicines called capillarotonic. Troxerutin has venotonic, anti-inflammatory and anti-swelling action. It has antioxidant activity. As a result of treatment with troxerutin, swelling of the legs and associated symptoms are reduced. Troxerutin Sopharma gel is intended for local symptomatic treatment of chronic venous insufficiency; varicose veins; superficial thrombophlebitis, periphlebitis and phlebothrombosis; postthrombotic syndrome; posttraumatic edema, hematomas.

2. What you need to know before you use Troxerutin Sopharma Gel

Do not use Troxerutin Sopharma gel:

  • if you are allergic to troxerutin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Troxerutin Sopharma Gel. Prolonged administration of the medicinal product may lead to hypersensitivity at the application site.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take other medicines.
No clinically significant drug or other interactions were observed when Troxerutin Sopharma gel was administered.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Troxerutin Sopharma in the form of a gel can be used during pregnancy and during lactation.

Driving and using machines
Troxerutin Sopharma gel is a topical formulation. Has no influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Troxerutin Sopharma gel contains benzalkonium chloride
Benzalkonium chloride may cause skin irritation.
You should not apply this medicine to the breasts if you are breast-feeding, because the baby may absorb it with breast milk.

3. How to use Troxerutin Sopharma gel

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Try to apply the drug at the same time every day.
The gel is applied morning and evening, gently rubbing it with light massage movements on the affected areas of the skin. If necessary, it can also be applied under a bandage and a tight sock.

If you have used more than the required dose of Troxerutin Sopharma gel
With topical application of the product, an overdose is unlikely to occur. With accidental ingestion of large quantities, it is necessary to apply general measures to eliminate and conduct symptomatic treatment.

If you forget to use Troxerutin Sopharma Gel If you forget to use the medicine and the time for your next dose is approaching, apply it as usual.
Do not use twice the amount of the medicine at the next administration.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
As a rule, the medicinal product is well tolerated.
In rare cases and with prolonged use, redness of the skin and itching are possible. If the complaints persist or your condition worsens, see a doctor!

5. How to store Troxerutin Sopharma gel

Keep out of the reach of children.
This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions. After opening the tube, the gel can be used for up to 12 months.

6. Contents of the pack and other information

What Troxerutin Sopharma gel contains

  • In 1 g of gel contains the active substance troxerutin (troxerutin) 20 mg.
  • The other ingredients are: carbomers, disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, sodium hydroxide, purified water.
